  • Clavulanic Acid (as Potassium Clavulanate) – 125 mg

Product Description:
Clavuco 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin, and Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is effective in treating bacterial infections that are resistant to standard penicillin therapy.

Indications:

  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections
  • Sinusitis and otitis media
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Dental infections
  • Bone and joint infections

Dosage and Administration:
To be taken as prescribed by the physician. Usually administered every 8 or 12 hours, depending on infection severity. Preferably taken at the start of a meal to improve absorption and minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.

Mechanism of Action:

  • Amoxycillin disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis.
  • Clavulanic Acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby restoring Amoxycillin’s effectiveness.

Storage Instructions:
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation
  • History of liver dysfunction associated with similar antibiotic combinations

Precautions:

  • Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment
  • Monitor liver function during prolonged therapy
  • Not recommended in pregnancy and lactation unless clearly indicated
